Terms of service.
In effect from 1 May 2026. The contract between you and us when you book travel through this platform.
Last updated 3 May 2026
1. Introduction
These terms govern your use of billal.travel and any travel services you book through it. By creating an account, by browsing our catalogue, or by making a booking, you agree to be bound by them. If you do not accept these terms, please don't use the service.
"We", "us", and "our" refer to Halford & Hart Limited, registered in England and Wales (company number 14829002), with its registered office at The Northern Quarter, Manchester M4 1HW.
2. The service we provide
We operate an online travel agency listing premium hotels, flights, and packaged travel. We curate the inventory to four-star and five-star properties only, source inventory from third-party suppliers (notably Amadeus Self-Service) and direct contracts with anchor hotels, and act as the merchant of record for the transaction between you and the supplier.
We do not own or operate the hotels, airlines, or transfers we sell. The travel service itself is delivered by the supplier; we are responsible for the booking, the payment, and the customer-service relationship around it.
3. Merchant of Record disclosure
For most bookings, we act as the Merchant of Record. This means you pay us, we issue the receipt and VAT invoice, and we settle with the supplier separately. You see one charge from "Aurora" on your statement, regardless of how many suppliers sit behind the booking.
For some packaged travel (hotel + flight bundles) we operate as a Disclosed Agent for the airline component, where the airline is the merchant of record for that leg. The booking confirmation makes this clear in plain English on the page where it applies.
4. Your account
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or make a booking. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you give us, for keeping your sign-in credentials confidential, and for any activity carried out under your account.
You may close your account at any time from inside Account → Privacy or by contacting us. We may suspend or close an account that has been used fraudulently, for repeated chargebacks without basis, or in breach of these terms.
5. The booking flow
When you make a booking through us, the contract is formed at the moment we send you a booking confirmation email — not at the moment you submit a payment. If we are unable to confirm a booking with the supplier (typically because the rate or availability changes between you submitting and us confirming), we will refund you in full and offer the closest comparable alternative.
All rates shown on the site are inclusive of taxes and mandatory fees, in the currency selected by you. Optional supplier extras (resort fees, parking, breakfast where it is not included) are made clear before payment.
6. Payment terms
We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and PayPal. Card payments are processed by Stripe and are subject to 3-D Secure authentication. We do not store your card details on our servers; payment data is tokenised by Stripe.
Most bookings are charged in full at the point of booking. Some properties offer a split-payment option (deposit at booking, balance closer to check-in); where this applies, the schedule is shown on the booking page before payment.
If a chargeback is raised against a booking that has been honoured by the supplier and for which a refund is not owed under our cancellation rules, we may pursue recovery through normal commercial channels.
7. Cancellation and changes
Free cancellation, refund timelines, partial-refund rules, and force majeure terms are set out in our cancellation policy, which forms part of these terms. The cancellation rule that applies to your specific booking is shown on the booking page and the confirmation email before payment.
Where you cancel a booking inside the supplier's late-cancel window, we apply the supplier's fee — typically the first night, sometimes more for non-refundable rates. We do not add markup to supplier cancellation fees.
8. Limitation of liability
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot be limited by UK law.
Subject to that, our total liability to you in connection with any single booking is limited to the amount you paid for that booking. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses — for example loss of profit, loss of opportunity, or loss of enjoyment beyond a reasonable proportion of the booking value.
We are not liable for failures of the underlying travel service that result from the supplier's acts or omissions, except where our own selection or supervision of the supplier was negligent. For supplier failures we will use reasonable efforts to obtain a refund and to find you an equivalent alternative.
9. Disputes
We take complaints seriously and aim to resolve them quickly through our customer service team. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may escalate the dispute through ABTA's independent arbitration scheme, of which we are members (ABTA member number Y6411).
ABTA arbitration is non-binding on you but binding on us. You retain the right to bring a court claim instead, and consumer claimants have the right to use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform where applicable.
10. Governing law
These terms, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them, are governed by the law of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, except that consumers resident in Scotland or Northern Ireland may also bring proceedings in their local courts.
11. Changes to these terms
We may amend these terms from time to time. Material changes are notified by email at least 30 days before they take effect; bookings made before the effective date remain governed by the version of the terms that applied at the time of booking. The current version is always at this URL with the "last updated" date at the top.
